Vr Thead
So is VR worth it in 2025?
Never used vr in my entire life and have some questions for those of you that use it.
>how immersive is it? People say sense of scaling is there with buildings, and creatures that sounds cool.
>do those of you that own it play it often, or is it more of just a novel toy you whip out every now and than for a new vr release?
Thinking about the quest 3 or 3s not sure which to get..

The immersion thing is entirely on you. I've always been super easy when it comes to vidya, books, and even board games. You have goggles strapped ro your face and your range of vision is limited. You basically have no peripheral vision. Neither of those hold me back but it just depends on you.
And for the "how often" part, it's something that comes and goes in waves. There will be a week or two where I'm using it every damn day, then I'll set it aside for a month or two. People bitching that it's worthless because it's not PC2 and they aren't using it for 15 hours every day is silly to me. I think it's a fantastic little device and there are a few games I come back to again and again but I'm not using it every day and I still think it's totally worth it. It just depends on where you draw the "is it worth it?" line. No, you won't be using it every day. It's not PC2. If you expect it to be, you'll be let down. If you tend to jump around and play lots of games instead of having 10,000 hours in some ASSFAGGOTS game then you might think it was a solid purchase. I got me a Quest2 and I love it even though it can sit around collecting dust for a month or two between binges.
Tiddies unrelated, I just like them.

HL alyx, saints and sinners, boneworks, bonelab

there's a decent backlog of games if you get a set now

and I can't stand vr mods in general
the reality is VR requires fine tuning and you only get that with professional developers making a VR game from the ground up

MQ3 is, "greatest of all time". Buy lens protectors though.
