I think there is some great potential with fantasy vs WWI. Uniforms wise it would be a lot more compelling compared to modern tac vests and khaki shit. Like plate wearing trench raiders doing spook operations while the rest of the forces roll up with creeping barrages and gas attacks. Biplanes and zeppelins running sorties while those shitty MKV landships just trundle along behind the main bulk.

Legendary. An XBOX/PS3/PC FPS game from 2008. I has griffons, werewolves, krakens and shit.
Had to look up the name, because I remember only hearing about the game back in the day, but I have never had an opportunity to play it myself. And maybe it's for the better, apparently it wasn't very well recieved.

For some reason a lot of people want it to be a total stomp where you just own everyone, but it doesn't sound like that has any staying power. Instead it feels like it'd be better if it was just asymmetrical and magic and fantasy creatures had their own ways of fighting back.

Also the human side should have fun designs too. Lots of cool unappreciated weapons out there, drowned in a sludge of dull modernity.

Kind of like Shadowrun. Magic and all that happened and humans are caught with technology having to deal with the fallout of a near world ending cataclysm. Dragons and fairies and shit are everywhere now, most countries collapsed under the strain. Cyberpunk corporations took hold of a bunch of holdout areas and became the law. People can choose to be wizards or mages or whatever if they have a talent for it, but largely people are still mundane and just use firearms and melee weapons.
