Bloodlines 2 has two protagonists. You somewhat frequently switch back and forth. Fabien's sections take place in the 1920s and one week prior to the events of the main story. Because he's a Malkavian, Fabien has access to all the usual Malkavian disciplines.

stops you from getting immersed and invested in a character if you just randomly swap to another one sometimes. i remember people complaining about that with mother 3 after it released. earthbound had you control other characters for short periods a couple times which was actually okay and didn't last very long. frequent switching can be kind of disorienting.

Once they gave the game to TCR maybe they should have dropped the idea of making this a sequel to the original Bloodline and turned it into another VTM game where you only play as Fabien and it's NOT an RPG. Idk playing a Malkavian Thinblood detective sounds better than playing an Elder.

if Fabien's sections are entertaining and enrich the narrative, i'm alright with it. i didn't mind the sections of Cyberpunk where you played as Johnny before the events of the game.
