5: Hivebusters was the best Gears
5 was the worst Gears.

They clearly have the talent to make a good Gears of War game, but Microsoft has a direction for the IP, same as Halo, which is wildly shit. They released a Gears of War Funko game for fuck sake.

Gears was an excellent franchise, but it did kinda end perfectly. Same thing for Halo. Gears 3/Halo 3 were the perfect endings. Everything after was just milking the cow.

I think gears of war 2 having massive fucking lag issues for months on end that basically turned into gaslighting the audience and blaming them even though every other title at the time didn't have that issue. If you say it wasn't lagging then you simply were not there. These people were doing underhanded shit before it was easily documented.

The story ended with 3 but they decided to continue anyway, took a massive dive in quality when the development switched to inhouse MS from Epic Games' Cliff Bazinga team.
