If it has obvious flaws like nonsensical text or extra fingers or something, it shows that the dev did it out of pure laziness. I would in most cases stop playing and refund the game on the spot. If it's properly touched up to the point that I can't distinguish it from a hand created asset, I'm not likely to notice which means I'm not likely to care. Basically, AI should be seen but not heard.
