I just started playing, would someone be so kind to explain to me what the fuck do these two skills do? They do fucking nothing. I am using them while having feathers stacked.

The clash one doesn't clash. I flail like a monkey, a gook hits me and I still take damage. isnt clash supposed to stop damage?

The bottom one seems totally useless. What is it even supposed to do?

Vermillion Feathers is optional so bybl that reason alone she'll have less clears but a lot of people seem to drop the game fairly early as with most games posing any challenge. I also found Vermillion to be easier than Commander but it's mostly because you have a lot of broken shit available to you in the second fight vs. the first time where you barely have anything.

Same here. I already knew I can just backstab the shit out of her and she even 'stands' in one place at the beginning for extended time so you can hit her couple of times, line up behind her back for a backstab and then go to town till she wakes up.

You can also loop her first phase if you have a parry move. For whatever reason if you parry her leap into a dash attack, counter hit once then dodge back she will do it again and you can just keep her stuck in that pattern til phase 2. Sadly it doesn't work in second phase because of the gay feather spam she does in tandem with that move and is honestly her hardest move to deal with outside of the lame marital arts mixup if you are too close. No idea how the fight is now after 1.5 patch though I assume it's a fair bit easier.

Now that's neat. That skill also has i-frames they never mention. Now why the fuck does the ice escape have I frames but the spear blight escape doesn't? Janky ass game. One handed sword spin to win has full on discipline clash that it just never fucking mentions too. And that survived a patch so it's clearly intentional.

You can do mostly magic as one-handed sword is focused on that, but if you want to be chain-casting magic you still need to wack with your weapon to generate charges faster. But one-handed sword is the only weapon that lets you generate charges passively so if you really wanted to, you could (very slowly) kill bosses with magic only without ever swinging your weapon.

I kept changing weapons because I read I was playing with the "broken build" but turns out the game just gets easy at one point?
I started with the longsword, apparently the parry trivializes the game and is for cucks so I went with dual blades instead to be like Liu Bei but apparently clashes trivializes the game so I decided to settle for axe starting from the lightning general fight.

The three hardest bosses I fought so far :

As I said, if you have thounds of hours in soulslikes, then probably yes.
I've watched a youtuber guy who completed all DS and Elden ring, and he tried Honglan for 4 hours straight, switching to all possible weapons and builds, and he ended up dropping the game because he couldn't make it.
I see a lot of people calling the bosses unfair and impossible.
So the game isn't easy at all. And guess what, switching to a more fitting build makes things much simplier, you just have to find one, and the game allows doing that freely.

They are adding boss checkpoints in a future update, that said the runback is fine for all but 3 bosses, two are shit for having a pointless retarded elevator ride before them and 3rd is Brat Magus having a somewhat lengthy run back with actual enemies in the way. Bo Sorcerer and Eternal Glory aren't that bad but maybe a bit pointless for the distance to run with nothing in the way.

I'm playing on the launch version of the game, pre 1.3 and I just don't understand why people were shitting on spear on release. It's an insanely good weapon. Ebb and Flow staggers a lot of enemies that you normally couldn't stagger with light attacks while also converting your Boldheart stacks and then with Aerial Bulwark giving 4 stacks, you've pretty much always got skyborn might stacks to spam swift draw attacks

Definitely, I think I enjoyed the exploration a lot more than Lies of P.
The combat was pretty alright. I think better than Lords of the Fallen on release was, and it's fairly smooth.

Graphically it's obviously very really nice, although the performance for me wasn't that great @1440p with a 5800X3D and RTX 3070.

Bosses were pretty fun. Zhao Yun was a bit of an ass. I had to look up if anyone was able to do it without damage, sure enough they did, just relied on specific animations and would dodge/heavy attack from behind 5-6 times and kill him

Not sure what ending I'm going to get but I've combined the rings together, which seems to lead me to believe it's a good ending, or something. I did not trust the Taoist at all.

I enjoyed it quite a lot.
I don't consider myself a coomer but having such a beauty as a main character definitely enhances the experience, especially with how detailed the textures are, the wet and blood effect on outfits are really underrated.
I enjoyed Stelllar Blade for the same reason, there are so many armors that look sexy without being outright ridiculous. When I get tired of exploring an area I just switch armor and enjoy looking at a different kind of hotness while moving.

What did the trick for me, in the second phase, was to play like a huge pussy. If you go far away from him he'll often start doing his tornado attack and after it he'll jump at you with a very predictable spin attack. Predict him, parry or dodge, hit once or twice, then flee and repeat.

The healing magnitude seems to be based on the animation of the skill you're quickdrawing to, as it's a constant hps.

I'm wrapping up endings and achievements in ng+ and demon of obsession doesn't spawn. Do I kill myself irl or start a fresh save, there's no way I want to face this thing on ng++ for the first time

I'd say continue and wait for next playthrough, you'll be much stronger by the time you face DoO than in a fresh save (though I'm not 100% on just how much their health pools increase by with each +), then again it depends on your patience to get to that point again. I made the mistake of forgetting you have to fight vermillion to get to brat magus and I'm on ng4, for me she more of a pain in the ass than DoO was but I couldn't imagine fighting demon on ng4

Just beat Zhao Yun. People thought this fight was hard? Only took me a few attempts. The guy has like no fucking health which was a huge surprise considering some of the tanky bosses up until this point. I got one obliterate off with LS and the fight was basically close to over at that point. Barely saw his second phase.

It's a problem how unbalanced and weak the benedictions are. The only good one is the leech on skyborn might one, the rest, all the status ones, are completely outclassed by the discipline skill one. It even affects magic damage.

You know if I hadn't played prior to this patch I would have just chalked the standing bosses monologuing at you after you kill them as an odd quirk. Now the fight with the imperial eunuch lookin dude just feels awkward

First playthrough was Longsword. Whip and then Serpents Fang. Overall pretty balanced and fun.
Second playthrough Scorn Greataxe. Really braindead but some faster bosse gave me trouble.
Third was Watcher's Gaze one handed sword and magic focused. Pretty fun and versatile but also very OP with maxed out stats.
Final playthrough was with the Twin Bandits and leech termper. Even more braindead than Axe.

Never really tried any of the spears but people say its a better axe.
