Whats your crack theory on what OFF actually is?

I think anything is better than what Mortis apparently actually thinks the games supposed to be.

>interactive media that doesn't want you to interact with it
The meta bullshit doesn't work anyways because it isn't immoral to kill a fictional character.

A bunch of trivial observations on industrialism and rudimentary readings of Freudian psychoanalysis. All that with just enough mythological and biblical references (selected at random) to obscure the vapidity of thought. I enjoyed the original game immensely, but it says nothing at all.

So batters the game director whos shutting down the whole process? Firing each stressed and overworked employee and their leads?

Nothing, because mortis ghost will never follow up with anything satisfying about anything, so the zodiacs will just be a bunch of stupid boss battles. Some of them do have good designs though

I genuinely think Middens with its half backed plot about Karma or something is partially inspired by OFF as well.

Anonymous No.718587345 [Report] >>718588293

Yeah, I thought the zone revisits were super boring because of that too. Especially considering that the secretaries are never explained. Like the world is obviously not purified because the secretaries are unpure, I supposed shutting OFF the world by pulling the switch does the trick. But like, wtf are they, why are there so many, where do they come from? Where are they going?

I'd say it's mostly about Genie being a self-righteous force of destruction, kinda like senator Armstrong taken to even further extremes, and I guess it leans more into themes of abusing the power you possess, while OFF deals with the subject of doing what you believe is right even if it's not morally sound, and though there are some similarities, not sure if there were direct influences.

I have not played Middens in awhile but isn't Genie just reverse Pablo? As I remember she belittle you if you're not actively shooting people left and right. And to progress to ending you need to kill at least 10-15 enemies. That is one of the more frustrating parts, since she turns on you anyway and says you're a bad person, for killing people who are based on occultists and prisoners.
Anonymous No.718596143 [Report]
>>718595193
I guess you can see it like that. Pablo only really aids you on your quest, having no personal stakes in the matter, outside of Japhet business, while Genie is the one getting you to "cleanse" the land, and through the game he(she?) says something like "every bullet I shoot is a seed for a Genie waiting to be born".
