I have a feeling that Blizzard contracts out the people who work on the once in a blue moon gorgeous cinematics rather than keep them around. They've developed enough rapport that they can just ring them up and be like "it's about that time again" but likely dump fat cash on them so it's a one time thing.

Regardless of whether you liked the focus on a dramatic moment with Anduin or not, it absolutely thrashes the Midnight trailer not just on a technical level, but just in terms of cinematography, editing, and pacing. The Midnight one is all off, everything is just being rushed through and nothing makes much sense or has any kind of weight. These cinematics used to be their bread and butter, no matter the expansion you'd get a cool well put together intro. Seeing that appear to fall too is just sad.

There was like just a few seconds of action in that trailer. At least there were action scenes unlike TWW trailer, but still very gay.
