Hidden techniques (movement especially, but combat as well doesn't hurt) that I learn via experimentation that I can use from the very beginning if I am to find them that early.
Whether or not they are revealed during regular gameplay or not is up to game discretion.
All the best of this genre let you do tricks from the very beginning but keep it from you so that your later discovery of it (planned or not) makes repeat playthroughs far more interesting and fun.

If there's one thing i can respect about Pseudoregalia is that it never fell for the double jump trap, better yet it also did not fell for the "Walljump but actually wallclimb if you just mash the same wall" trap that every metroidvania seems to fall for because of "Muh Super Metroid!!" nonsense. You know why Fusion changed walljumps? Because shit was nonsensical in Super cause you could just climb any flat wall, of course that did take away sequence breaking from Fusion, but sequence breaking was already internally impossible in Fusion anyways because of how it handles scripting (You can get plasma beam, TAS only, before getting it in the intended way, but all that does is just tell you go to fuck yourself and lv1 hatches open).

The only suckass thing about pseudoregalia is just that some upgrades are just filler (the charged smack to break green walls and the charged projectile, those things are only used in like few areas) and there's no focus on combat at all, but not falling for obvious design tropes that scream Speedrunningbait while enabling speedrunbait in more legitimate ways that a casual first playthrough isn't played out as linear as its intended to be is a design philosophy more developers should take notes of. But you just know Silksong is just going to be more of the same as HK.
