Being fair, that's what literally happens in the comics, there's a 30 year time-skip and most walkers have either been killed or rot away, people started to live in settlements that don't need walls to be safe, and what effectively marks the end of the apocalyptic era is a rebuilt railway system that connects each coast of the USA, bringing communities together, things almost look like the old west but not that bad because there's people working on bringing back even more old technology. The games got as far as 8 years into the timeline of the comic, and by that point all major arcs are over, although it's implied there's one big war that's being fought during S4.

I think the glaring problem with AJ, is that Clementine gets shackled with the responsibility of taking care of him no matter what, even if during season 2 you have Clem act distant and cold towards the baby, they still end up together no matter the ending.

And because of what A New Frontier decided to focus on, Clem is already hard wired to care for AJ and showcases maternal instincts even if in the past season Clem can act very differently towards him, there was no chance to focus in the interesting dilemma of taking care of a baby on her own, to show her doubts, fears, and reluctance to actually become a caretaker even if she's far too young to be one while living in a harsh world. Having this midpoint to build and emotional connection with AJ would have helped to ease in the kind of players that didn't want to take care of him. But ANF takes all that for granted, hell, Clem is already grieving him when you met her and then in the middle of the game, she's told AJ is alive and now she has a goal for the next game.

That said, I do like AJ and a lot of that comes from the fact that S4 had to do the heavy lifting of two games to establish their relationship, I just can't shake-off that feeling that he was kinda forced and it could have been done better if they planned things.

Nah, Ben's type of character isn't someone that would post on 4chan. He's not even really the type that would post on reddit, or even youtube comments. Honestly Season 2 is the most interesting and unique season to me, both in concept and execution. Wasn't perfect but they tried really hard to follow up Season 1 and I think they were just barely on the cusp of getting it perfect. Maybe another 6 months of writing and story boarding would've gotten us there.

The original Kenny vs. Luke pitch would've been better because Kenny singling out Jane doesn't make any sense when the rest of the group is ganging up on him too, and Jane feels like an entirely different character from her EP4 self too.
