There's literally not a single argument against R=U. Every time some weird autist gets triggered and tries to argue against it, it's always either "Uh, it was deboonked by Square, m'kay?", which it wasn't as we already saw. the problem with R=U is that it means the entire game is a waste of time. squall WAS correct to be a loner that never lets anyone get close to him as getting close to rinoa ended reality from time compression.
All the scenes where characters lecture squall that he needs to accept people care for him and he for them? total waste of time by people who are wrong. the protagonist? perfect ubermensch from the start who grows only in power and not belief like a shitty cultivation novel.

just a four disc jrpg where if the protag just stayed in bed while never opening his mouth the world would be in an objectively better place, you have to be a truly miserable bugman to think this is anything resembling a good thing

I don't really care. Ultimecia's a shallow, one-dimensional villain so if she's Rinoa, it just means Rinoa becomes a shallow, one-dimensional villain in the future. And, admittedly, it's not like most Final Fantasy villains have much depth to begin with, so I won't even say that Ultimecia is especially bad by that standard. Sephiroth's start of villainy was "Found out he was s science experiment, mind completely snapped like twig". Sin is just a mindless beast.

But my point is being Rinoa doesn't really make Ultimecia a better character. She's still kinda boring.
