I cleared it on a Steam Deck with medium/high settings and it never ran and itt ran mostly around 40-50s.
For Jornos to notice that it runs terrible it must be running well below 30.
I don't really expect much from From and Bamco anyway, this is pretty much a rushed port.

Most people these days buy switches or switch 2s for Nintendo games only. Most people I know with high end PCs have a switch for Nintendo games. Nintendo games are typically 60fps like Smash Ultimate so its fine as long as they themselves produce good framerates for their hardware. Paper Mario TTYD was ok at 30fps, still enjoyable for what that game was.

Because there is still a large chunk of people that only have a switch, typically younger ones with less money. Why bother porting them though? I don't know I don't run a publisher. Clearly there is money in it because Switch ports sell surprisingly well. Some ports are running very well on the device though, Apex runs at 60fps without drops.

It doesn't unless you're into triple A gaming or your tastes in videogames are pretty basic. For Japanese games and indies as instances, the Nintendo hardware is more than fine.
I'm pretty sure Elden Ring works fine in handheld mode anyway, the Steam Deck had performance issues as well in several parts of this game even if you tried to force a refresh limit on 30fps.

Switch 2 is roughly a 2060, it even uses a similar architecture, the big difference is that it is downclocked esp. in handheld mode.
If you compare performance of games running on Switch 2 with pc benchmarks you get similar avg. fps.
The upscaling can close that gap, otherwise it's a bit weaker, but it's definitely better than a 1060.

Wild Hearts for example runs at 60fps on a 2060super and at 50fps on S2 both in 1080p.
