I don't care too much about meta, but if I did then this list would be way different.

Dragonspine back when it was new was the best Genshin ever was, but even that is now shit thanks to newer characters exploration skills killing all sense of exploration.

You sure? I tried going back there with Xilonen and it was still more challenging to navigate than the gay ass toddler volcano in Natlan.

Furina is the only Genshin that ruins exploration

It depends on the character, FUCK FLYFAGS since they're just boring and break puzzles, but anyone that just lets you get a burst of vertical or horizontal mobility makes the game feel better.

Natlan's story was utterly lame. But the maps and characters are solid and the closes to the vibes of 1.X. I'm already hyped for Nod-krai based on their design alone.

Agree on characters being good but I request an essay on why you think the map was good. It's the most shallow, depth lacking, content lacking, underground lacking, variety void and most boringly linear map to date inmo.

Its just chill, incredibly good looking, and I sometimes log on just to run around it, its not as strong of a first time exploration experience as some of the other areas, but it has value beyond that first time.
Only other time I come back to other regions solely for exploration purposes is Chenyu Vale, and rarely the northern areas of Fontaine, which I guess means they've been getting better and better over time.

I liked the event, but whoever is responsible for The World Is Your Canvas's length deserves to be flogged.

Not the insane aranara quests of Sumeru.
Not the abysmal archon quests of Fontaine.

Are they event exclusive? I was aware of them but didn't bother because of TIME

1. Fontaine - i liked the swimming and the vibe of the quests
2. Natlan - while i feel the story was weaker the exploration mechanics were far more fun than others
3. Sumeru - liked the early parts of this but the three desert map expansions knock it down hard
4. Inazuma - nice vibe and the story felt interesting, especially with areas like Enko however it felt like many things were kneecapped by the game engine where "battles" were practically 4v4
5. Mondstadt - very simple and early but it is hard to beat it when everything is new
6. Liyue - overstays it's welcome but had some interesting areas like The Chasm.
