Marl Kingdom carried NIS until Disgaea came out, and then Disgaea became their flagship series while Marl Kingdom was discarded.
And with how many of their games went 3D model route I'd rather not bring the series back - old NIS spritework is better left alone.
I think Marjoly no longer being a cameo character in Disgaea games and EN release of second Marl Kingdom game (after 20+ years since original JP release on PS1) not having songs localized in English shows that modern NIS doesn't really care.

EN voiceacting in first Marl Kingdom (whatever little amount it had beyond songs) was honestly pretty good for its time. If anything, it's way more endurable than EN voiceacting in modern Disgaea games.
