Literally only three in the past 15 years, Each roughly 6 years apart, but go on, I'd like to hear your totally valid argument.

Gross squid monster on a new planet populated by gross squid things but still fight with swords and spears and stuff. Typical ARPG things.
Plot is the ship from the end of Automata landed there and started terraforming the planet to try and grow new humans.
2nd half the squid people start evolving into humanoid shapes to better fight protohumans and androids.

Call it Fahr Reach like "far reaching consequence" as opposed to Near Copy and Near Autonomous like the first 2 games.

Wow, 10 more reviews for the soundtrack. On Steam. lol. Now let's see some credible sources. Not saying E33's OST is bad by any means, I find it on par with Automata's (but less than the original NieR). But 35 positive reviews versus 25 on fucking STEAM doesn't make for a very good argument.

Drakengard (including nier) is probably the most overrated vidya series I know. They're all mediocre at best, DG1-2 are simply horrible.

Just a new game that plays at least as good as the original. They probably won't be able to make something like Automata ever again unless they get Platinum on it. I want Drakengard 4 developed by Tecmo more though, just go back to the 1 and 2's style of gameplay. 3 was just a weird corridor action game which I'm not a big fan of, even the flying sections were like a rail shooter similar to Panzer Dragoon instead of Ace Combat

Well not unplayable, it's just a mediocre action game. You have to be stubborn to make yourself slog through it yeah but it's not broken or anything. As for 3, playing on an actual console was a miserable experience

I feel like there could be a good story to tell somewhere in between the two games. Maybe something to do with the dark side of the earth, I know there's some crazy lore going on there in a lot of the lesser known side media. It's where dragons were "invented" and ultimately sent back in time to Drakengard's world so I'm sure you could make a whole game out of that

I'll bite, how are you supposed to enjoy the combat in DoD1? You're stuck with one weapon with one combo and one magic attack for each enormous map.

I think he's more complaining about the stages being less open as there are virtually no stages where you wreck havoc with the dragon as in DoD1. Sometimes they may branch a bit for a chest but it's often a corridor.
>>718613715

You can also juggle enemies with jumping attacks. You also dont always need to combo your enemies, the dash attack is really usefully knocking down large groups of enemies. Side swing jump attacks are really useful with large heavy weapons since they move at the same speed regardless of the weight of your weapon. You can carry up to 8 weapons each with their own spells. You dont have to end every interaction with an enemy with your aoe, often it makes more sense to roll away or use your magic.

Also the enemy design is pretty good, lots of unique enemies that you have to approach differently, and unlike some other musous and hack n slash games they put up a fight instead of swaying back and forth waiting to get combod to death. And when you attack enemies in this game your sword has to actually connect with the enemy to hit them. In a lot of musous you hit one guy in a crowd and the others just magically fly up like theyre background actors in a shitty disney star wars show or steven seagals aikido jobbers who are paid to job to him.
