I think the issue is there's a larger than normal number of Win10 users whose hardware doesn't support the requirements for Win11 than would be typical in most version updates, and while yeah you can do a workaround loophole to get up to Win11 anyway, the vast majority of people aren't tech savvy enough to understand how to do that.

Steam will keep working until Chromium drops support at which point it will still keep working for a while with no guarantees, just like on Windows 7. Valve isn't going to flip a kill switch for no reason.

It does, actually, unless you're willing to compromise and learn how to use something new. Linux works for me but I don't play online games so my opinion doesn't matter. You won't switch to Linux because it's not for you. You will upgrade to Windows 11, 12, and so on, and you will be "happy".

I tried to switch to arch and got everything to work but every game I played had way worse fps than on windows. I have an Intel gpu and linux support for them just sucks fps goes into the shitter whenever theres a moderate amount of particles

I did, I did every single fix I could find I installed drivers, vulkan I switched from steam flatpak to native tried different proton version etc nothing made it better just constant stutters and fps drops and the average frame rate was 20 fps lower than on windows. I spent weeks on trying to fix it. I even started asking AI in case they could find any other solutions but nothing made it better. I really tried man I really liked the freedom linux gave me but at this point I just want shit to work
