The Great Plateau is so good that the entire rest of the game and its sequel struggle to live up to it, it is objectively better. You do not have any material arguments to the contrary, play the 'le comft/soul' card if you'd like your concession to be as embarrassing as possible.

Is Zelda 2 disliked because it's not a standard Zelda game or because it's just not a game people enjoy? I think Zelda 2 kicks ass but I have God knows how many hours as a kid banging my head against it.
