I wanted to shit on the tendie baby racing game but I watched the whole Kirby Direct and it looks fun as fuck? Definitely better than most games shown by Nintendo so far and better than Mario Kart World. Every passing year I'm more convinced sakurai is maybe the best mechanics focused game designer on earth and his talents are completely wasted at Nintendo. I can't imagine how crazy his games would be if he were unleashed at capcom or sony instead of being stuck making kids games.

He even admits he thought it was retarded to make air ride when it's so similar to mariokart but the out of touch boomers at Nintendo and HAL wanted him to do it. What a fucking waste.....

I have a love / hate relationship with Samurai. He's obviously incredibly competent. But he's so stuck in his ways that everything he makes is very predictable. I wish they wouldn't let him be director of games. Like they should let him be in charge of managing the technical work being done because he's obviously good at that. But there should still be someone over him calling the shots so his "muh vidya design" autism doesn't go crazy.
