Hardcore WoW has actual stakes so people behave much more human. It's the only MMO I still play. Softcore is just a bunch of animals fucking around, like most games.

Every time I go outside I just feel unable to connect with anyone on a deeper level, just happened today. I haven't felt like I've had close friends that I can be open with in fucking years and I dunno how to get there again.

Plenty of avatar worlds for most fandoms that you can find something nice to borrow while you figure out unity.
Honestly, I've uploaded several avatars now and it just seems like such a pain. Would rather grab something and not worry about it, I'm there to VRChat, not show off the latest porn model I downloaded.

You can't. Video games are a black hole of human capital. They steal not only the time you could spend forming real connections in the real world, but the time you could be spending improving yourself to be someone people want to form a connection with.
