Except that MT Framework's last outings were what as bad, if not worse than what we've seen with RE Engine. It's still retarded to blame the engine vs poor art direction. It's the Westernization and cinematic meme come full circle. So yeah, you guys are dumb. Engine has zero impact on what colors you choose to use.

final game couldn't look like the prototype becuase the ps2 would've shat itself. if i remember correctly the artstyle is the way it is due to technical limitations.

It was good for what it was but ultimately a DS game just wasn't going to live up to the original even if actually drawing shit was more intuitive. Okamiden is a trade between having good gameplay or good controls.
