The concerning thought is that most Souls players just rollspammed and R1'd the whole game. I don't think they even knew they could stancebreak bosses.

Guard counters are a trap if the counter doesn't stagger the enemy, which includes all enemies worth blocking against.

Considering one of the most viewed videos on YouTube is some faggot complaining about the bosses having "random combo extenders" I'd believe it. When you refuse to change your approach or use any of the tools the game gives you, and it's stupid how generous it is, then perhaps you're just a retard.

Good thing guard counters do insane stance damage. Guard counter is yet another "you didn't beat the game" cheese. So many filtered retards whipped out the fingerprint shield, heaviest armor they had, and guard counters on consort radahn instead of parrying him as intended.

Why would you waste time trying to get 2 parries for 1 crit when you can repeatedly poke him to death with significantly less effort? Hell, add in bleed and he dies even faster and he can hardly stop you.

Because it requires more investment to pull off. Even if someone wants to post a webm of them fucking over a boss without rolling, they do all this running around like a retard, jumping at specific moments, and often times is stacked with a lot of buffs. This is ignoring how you have to 'practice' the boss in comparison to just outright fighting him and opposed to rolling which is just a button press.
Is it possible? No shit it is. But the vast majority of the player base of any game isn't going to go to such lengths when the easier, and more times than not, better option exists.

Nah, the game must teach them in 30 seconds.

And they must actually help you win the bosses easier. Preferably there would be at least one non-optional boss where you basically have to use a mechanic to complete so it gets forced into your memory.

For example, a fire boss that you cannot complete without equipping fire resistant gear.

Fromsoftware -games are just notoriously poor at it.

Agree that using shields + guard counter is like 'easy' mode.

If you don't play a lot, you should probably beat games on easy.

You can always beat the game first on easy then challenge yourself e.g. "i wont use shields and summons this time".
