Which one was your favorite? For me, it was the PS2. Great multiplats and games like FFX, Kingdom Hearts, and Sly Cooper.

Only one worth a damn was Xbox.

PS2 has most of my favorite games and controller of that gen. They're all great though.

Been playing a lot on the og Xbox recently. Just got 100% on Burnout 3 (FUCK THE TRAM, BUS, AND TRAIN TAKEDOWNS), now playing the Family Guy game.

Memecast is an overrated noisy piece of shit with exclusives lauded by YouTube fags for their “aesthetics” because no one actually wants to play them
GameCube has some good exclusives but its horribly weak CPU and gay controller make it so that the handful of good exclusives are all it has going for it
Xbox is theoretically the best but held back by a lack of good exclusives, multiplats were typically best on it but you might as well have just had a gayman PC back then if you wanted to play those games
PS2 clears which is why it sold the best

PS2 had the best games. GameCube was ok but the first party games aren't a system seller to me. I was very close to buying one for RE1, 0, and 4, but then 4 came to PS2 and the other games came to PC. Anything else I just emulated. There's so little interest in Xbox that only recently a decent emulator come out.

You should spend more time playing if you think this is reality.

Yeah, I played some Dreamcast games recently and they were all boring. So over hyped. I'm glad I didn't get one when they were $40.

This.
The GC controller encourages designing fun gameplay with its face button layout and knows what dual analog controllers are capable of, it's the only 6th gen controller that isn't retro or retarded.

Missing so many buttons forced designers to cripple their games, and the quality of things like the d-pad leave a lot to be desired.

X-box > PS2 > Dreamcast > Gamecube.

Gamecube only had Biohazard 4 as it's claim to fame.

1 of the back buttons and the analog stick buttons that no one uses?

Yeah, SSX games removed a ton of their tricks because of that missing button. Lack of pressure sensitivity also shows a lacking vision for designers too.

it's missing a select button too.

I had Gamecube and Xbox, and having that combination is weird, it's like I grew up in an alternate reality during the "PS2 Era".

The Xbox I got "for free" after my family signed up for 2 Years of MSN Internet, and I got a Gamecube because it was $100, and my poor ass who's "entertainment budget" was limited to Birthday/Christmas/Allowance money could swing that.

Some games I loved alot:
Halo 2 (no internet because I was still on dialup until like 2007...), Gauntlet:Dark Legacy, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Remake, Killer 7, Mario Kart Double Dash, F-Zero GX, Silent Hill 2, Eternal Darkness, SSX Tricky, Darkwatch, Lost Kingdoms 2 (Real Fromsoft Niggas Only), Timesplitters Future Perfect so many good games...

>Missing so many buttons
It is missing maybe 1 shoulder button and a select button. Designers were forced to cripple their games far more just to cope with not having a mouse and keyboard with 90 extra buttons, missing 2 (two) buttons isn't going to drastically impact that. Xbox multiplats did far more to cripple and kill games than the Gamecube, especially with their two full-size analog sticks that pretended to be able to control an FPS game.
>Dpad
Retro trash. If you want the Dpad for 2D games, then you don't want the analog stick and if you want the Dpad for menus, then you want to be playing on PC where you can just use a mouse. Just get a good 2D focused controller and use that instead of getting a controller that can't comfortably use the Dpad anyway.

4 buttons, and a lack of pressure sensitivity except for the shoulders. It's lacking a wide range of options.
>Designers were forced to cripple their games far more just to cope with not having a mouse and keyboard
Saying this during the generation where console FPS games began their rise and with numerous excellent games to their genre is such a meandering non-argument. Who are you trying to appeal to? This is a thread about consoles, console games. Don't change the subject.
>Xbox multiplats did far more to cripple and kill games
Insane remark. Xbox offered definitive versions of numerous 6th generation games that people like yourself would hop on the moment it became convenient for you. If anything the prevalence of GC emulation has misinformed people to the quality and playability of 6th generation games, depriving them of their true reputation that had earned at the time as dull emulation users settle for what works rather than what's best.

Your entire post is trash. You lost focus after the first sentence and meandered aimlessly with no goal in those paragraphs. Work on that.

>4 buttons, and a lack of pressure sensitivity except for the shoulders. It's lacking a wide range of options.
By that logic it would still only be missing 2 buttons, the triggers are dual stage with distinct inputs when they bottom out.
>Saying this during the generation where console FPS games began their rise and with numerous excellent games to their genre is such a meandering non-argument. Who are you trying to appeal to? This is a thread about consoles, console games.
That's an excellent time to fucking say it, since it marks the decline of every game that made use of PC's free camera control scheme in favor of something that required such vast oversimplification and assistance. The relatively minor limitations of controllers are such a non-issue when compared to that disparity.
>Xbox offered definitive versions of numerous 6th generation games that people like yourself would hop on the moment it became convenient for you.
Name one definitive version that you shouldn't just play on PC, the practice of multiplats just lead to increasingly mediocre games.

>Your entire post is trash. You lost focus after the first sentence and meandered aimlessly with no goal in those paragraphs. Work on that.
You lost focus the instant I threw shade on Xbox and didn't even address my second point. Both of my points are entirely coherent and all arguments are in service of the central theses of those points, those being:
>The missing button on the Gamecube is a relatively minor issue
>The Dpad is not relevant on a controller for 3D games
