Sup /v/,

Super oldfag here who is usually on other boards (/k/, /out/, /fit/). I don't play a lot of vidya, but still enjoy the occasional Legend of Zelda, Fallout, Battlefield, RDR, GTA, and some misc games I buy used for cheap like Far Cry. Most new games don't appeal to me, so I still just have a PS4 and a Switch.

My plan was to upgrade my system when GTA6 comes out (ha!), but recently I saw a new Battlefield has been released, so I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger on a new console now.

Two questions

Should I go PS or Xbox? I've had an original xbox, xbox360, original ps, ps2, and now a ps4, but I don't have any console loyalty. Since both Battlefield 6 and GTA6 will be on both, I don't know what to get. Are there any system exlusive games that I should consider?

Second, I'm a cheap ass. Both systems have been out for awhile now, should I buy now? or wait some time for the price to drop? I'm more concerned with GTA6, so I don't mind waiting till the new release date.

Also, I don't want the digital editions. I prefer discs because I don't have to worry about long ass downloads (when I DL'd RDR, that shit took a whole day) and I like to buy and sell used games.

All of the systems got price increases kek and the ps5 was literally in the past few days. I would just ask yourself if you want game pass, get the xbox if you do. Otherwise ps5. It doesn't sound like you'll actually care about the games xbox misses (weeb games).

just buy them used xbox's are usually worhless on the used market because no one wants them

Consoles are getting more expensive as time goes on? WTF bizarro world shit is that? Maybe I'll have to look at the used market.

As for a game pass, do you need a pass to play multiplayer on xbox? I know on ps4 I have too and hate it for that reason. Usually I just get a few games and play the shit out of them for months and months instead of buying new games often.

I was just including the playstation and xbox systems I had. Add a modded PSP to that list. If you want all the systems, though, I left out NES, SuperNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Nintendo Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, N64, and of course a PC where I grew up on old Sierra games and old ass Infocom games.

I think that is it. So I'm not super old, but probably older than most fags here.

I have series s and I'm so disappointed because it seems like xbox is leaving the console market. I definitely abused gamepass and such, so it was kinda worth it but still disappointing. And they are saying xbox series gen is already ending and I'm like what? Ps5 gets more physical releases so you should probably go for that

yeah you need the lowest tier of gamepass, gamepass core. On nintendo and playstation you need to play for online too
