What is your opinion of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?

don't give a fuck about any RGG game after kiwami 2

It managed to bury both Kiryu AND Ichiban, which is impressive.

Like I legitimately can't see how Yakuza 9 would work in any capacity. RGG Studios is probably feeling the same way and will kick the can down the road as long as they can by making stuff like Stranger Than Heaven, Judgement 3, etc. Anything to avoid having to answer how to deal with moving the story forward.

The two yakuza "villains" from 8 are still around and the goal of dissolving all yakuza still has not been fulfilled. Right there you have a story. I think Ichi's story arc is meant to be about dissolving all of yakuza so until that happens his story goes on. At this point all the big orgs were dissolved but small ones still exist

Absolute fucking dogshit. The game that finally killed my interest in the franchise holy fuck.

I thought 3/4 of it was great, had some of the best minigames in the series and defintely the most immersive one (dodonko island/sujimon).
the story reaaaaallly gets long though, could've done with 1-3 chapters less at least. Also kiryu's chapter (closure) only makes sense if you've played every single yakuza before this, which is kinda weird imo for one of their more international titles. It made little to no sense to me to go through his memories having played only 4,7 and this.

I swear if Yokoyama fucks this up

Haven't played it. I lost interest in this tired old soap opera after 3, which already had been a decent ending and certainly should have been Kiryu's last game.

>keeps baiting eternal life
Calling it now: Kiryu will reject the eternal life drug and gracefully age to 90, still appearing in games, but Majima will gobble it up and will be le quirky chungus forever

Honestly did a good job passing the torch to Ichiban.
It's still a pretty lame send off for Kiryu though

Felt like Kiryu took back the torch though. Every Ichiverse character got to know him and he had the last boss of the game. He's basically all set to be the protagonist again

Not terrible, but confirmed my preference for the beat 'em up style since I got into it right after playing Gaiden. Only remotely difficult content is the dungeons and even those can get pretty trivial with minimal grinding. Main story and substory divide gets really awkward with Kiryu's memoir shit (Daidoji acting like their cover story is worth a rat's ass once the eternal VTuber blows it wide open).

Great game, better story than 7 but still worse than Pirates

Grew immensely disinterested when they started forcing the camera on Kiryu. Focus should had just been on Ichiban and Hawaii, instead of looping back around and having Kiryu's narrative basically hijack the major conflicts.
