I appreciated DmC after 5 came out because I wasn't afraid that was the final nail in the coffin. As a game, it's a fine hack n slash, it just strips out all the cool stuff good DMC's did prior to it (no taunting, no style switching, lamer form of weapon swapping). Now compare that to the Netflix show, where it's 2025, and we're playing Green Day and Limp Bizkuit, it's not even funny anymore, it's obvious nostalgia pandering. It's fake and gay, DmC was trying to be a statement, and edgy, and new with Nosia when dubstep resurgence was at its peak.

Also one is an actual game. The Madhouse DMC anime, for as slow as it can be, is 10x more fun than Shitflix May Cry.

Where the fuck does the story even go? They can't adapt any of the games properly with all the changes they made. Like I know changes have to be made when you adapt media, but it's so far off the fucking rails at this point you can't introduce Trish or Nico later on, you probably can't introduce Nero. Every character from the games has been butchered, they can't carry over the themes from the games, it's all just some dumbass Pajeet slamming action figures into each other.
Vergil's apparently a freedom fighter for the demons, which is against all previous characterization, and he can't even have his cold as ice personality he's famous for. Dante seems to have been pressganged into working for Demon ICE, which makes zero fucking sense even considering his lack of motivation in Season 1.
Even in the context of the show, they established that the demons in power are assholes, so Mundus should still be an evil motherfucker, so why did Vergil agree to work for him to protect all the demon refugees?
It's fucking crazy that DmC at least has Donte decide that humanity shouldn't be ruled by Vorgil and a demon Illuminati shadow government, and by that nature is more faithful to the original series than this dumpster fire.

Netflix adaptations are just weird, they mix and match stuff from multiple games and arcs and even then rush through stuff without build.
I think One Piece is the only one that came out survived the transition, i tried watching the Yakuza and Yu Yu Hakusho shows but they are fucking incomprehensible, especially the latter.
