In the original Japanese Version™. Solidus and Solid Snake are voiced by the same person so the confusion is understandable. I don't know why they need two voice actors for the USA release. Probably David Hayter is asking some big dosh to voice both so they turned him down

I think the reality is that their models are just reflecting different things and were created independently. You can see in MGS4 that Snake is clearly still built on a Christopher Walken/Mel Gibson mash-up among whatever else.

If he had aged that quickly he would have been dead long before the events of MGS2. There's a difference between accelerated aging and accelerated growth.

He was the "perfect" clone so it's likely he would've outlasted Solid, who was on his deathbed only five years after the Big Shell Incident.

What are you basing this on? There's no real reason to think he aged that much differently than Solid, it just hit him a little earlier.

The amusing thing with Vergil is how they've decided instead of having hair like Dante's but slicked back he actually has natural anime porcupine hair. Admittedly even DMC3's promo renders made Vergil look a little weird there, though. The game itself is the only thing that got it right.
