I don't actually mind a female protag per se, but I have a feeling she's gonna be yapping your fucking ear off with some bullshit because of the story's foundation. Also, the story beats of "oh no I'm actually working for le evil and I gotta rebel" is so tired and doesn't exactly fill me with hope for a good narrative experience.
