Its kind of crazy to think that this will be my first day one game buy ever.

Dark Souls 2 wasn't in dev hell for 7 years. It was released a reasonable 3 years after Dark Souls 1 and the devs were never secretive or reclusive during that time.

This is a DNF situation. DNF was obliged to be one of the best singleplayer shooters of all time after it got stuck in hell for that long. That much time and money?
