My first experience with Hollow Knight was sour because my friend had me farm a screen and a boss for 30 mins to farm money and I was so bored by the end of it that I never touched it again.

It was ok with it's combat. But it was really dull looking and the soundtrack sucks. which made me not want to explore the map.

If you want some good metroidvanias then you are better off playing Symphony of the Night or La mulana.
