Undertale and Deltarune are just collections of unfunny Big Bang Theory-esque BAZINGA! jokes. Every joke is meant to be wholesome and reddit-approved so you'll never see one that's actually unique or funny. It's the most corpo approved, soulless shit. Asriel was never fleshed out enough for that melodramatic ending, it's just an excuse to add another furry design. The Genocide route's execution is bad. You have to really force it and therefore the game trying to shame you for having you do a very forced specific thing just doesn't give off the intended feeling. The memes and popularity of the games gaslit people into thinking the writing is good.

I don't know what kind of brain damage you have to have, to think Deltarune is saying to the player they're bad for playing the game, when Kris is portrayed as morally grey and ambigious and controlling them in the normal route tends to lead to doing moral choices and making new friends.
