they peaked with Eternal and it'll be hard to surpass it unless they make a sequel with similar mechanics. The Meat Hook in particular elevated the gameplay to a place no other FPS has gone before but with Dark Ages they went backwards. Made the game slower, more boring, maps way bigger than they needed to be and made the game tedious to play. They went backwards. Not to mention much less content too.

Great hame but I think this is an oversight that kulled it. Say what you want about Eternal but people got what it was going for from the get-go.

Instead of weapons given to you one at a time at predetermined order it should allow you to select what "weapon class" and runes you want in what order (aside for the really powerful stuff like the SSG and the chainball thing).

I think alot of people just have D00M fatigue at this point. It's been almost 10 years of the same shit now.

I played it and eternal and im still fucking confused why we had to save that magical princess chick if doom guy kills the bad guy anyway.
And who the fuck are all those fags in those cinematics? Did i had to read codecs in Eternal to know what the fuck is going on, why nothing makes sense, and who the fuck even are those people?

Despite 2 hours of cinematics, a full movie lenghts of them, the writing is fucking retarded and nonsensical, there seems to be no moment to moment logical continuity, nothing feels coherent.
