Konami is trying to shill this as a "RETURN TO FORM, RETURN TO ROOTS" like Capcom paid off trannies to talk about RE7 being a classic Resident Evil despite being nothing but flavor of the month streamer bait chase trend of the 2010s. When I think of Silent Hill I think about the location being vaguely Northeastern United States, melee and guns, having on-screen cultists or implication the town has a cult, and an HP Lovecraft Elder God potentially awakening per the plot.
Not SH2 therapy town Redditor headcanon or "PLACE, JAPAN! NIPPON!!" fought entirely with melees. I could not be more disengaged with Silent Hill F, but had it been called a new IP I could come with an open mind in spite of my hesitation with the ugly femoid protagonist. It's so weird that PS1-PS2-GameCube era had the hot Resident Evil girls, the hot Fatal Frame girls, the hot Heather Mason in Silent Hill 3 and then Japan thinks they can put out this inbred looking girl in the spotlight and say "RETURN TO JAPANESE HORROR FORM!".
