Midra hits differently when you go with this route. During the regular endings, you're putting down an actual lunatic who is being possessed by the devil or some shit, but during the Frenzied Flame path, you're taking out the competition

I'm fucking around with Milady and the Wing Stance ash in the DLC, and I can't help but feel like its some kind of noob trap.
You're extremely slow when holding the stance, and the R2 is basically the only useful technique. It does decent damage, but there's a lot of commitment for it beforehand.
I know about Rellana's Cameo, but a build based around it feels very feast or famine in terms of actually doing good damage or eating shit.
The only benefit is that it takes minimal FP.

Why not just spam Impaling Thrust or Lion's Claw instead?
I feel like I'm missing something.

Getting to Midra is something you need a guide for, as a warning.
If you aren't a completionist you'd never get access to his area because the entrance is hidden in an asinine way.
Once you get a few of the fragment blessings, the scaling of the DLC is actually easier than end-game Elden Ring. You'll do relatively more damage in the DLC than you did back in the base game in the Mountaintops or the Haligtree or Farum Azula.

it's not really for a "build based around it," spamming weapon arts is kinda lame anyway, it's just a nice tool with solid utility and good damage when used right, that use you alongside the rest of your moveset
lions claw is probably the best pve aow in the game especially if you just want something to spam so it's going to be hard to compete with that

It never addressed anything it if you cure the chaos aids. Faggots will try to say "WELL SHE NEVER CAME BACK BECAUSE HER PURPOSE.' But if you get frenzy flame ending you see that she cares more than just her original purpose and even finds a new purpose of attacking the player character. So why don't they show her getting a new and better purpose if you save her AND don't go with the frenzy flame? The thing is, they just never address the alternative path at all. Story wise she just disappears after you get the frenzy flame, and if you cure it then it just treats the other ending sequences as if she sacrificed herself and just never shows up. You would have hoped they'd address this in the DLC, bu nope hope you like gay incest shota bait.

What's fucked up is I didn't rest at the grace before I entered the big door and Hyetta wasn't waiting down there for me, so I had no idea what would happen when I opened the door to the two fingers. I got the cutscene, then rested at the grace and Melina had her melty and then we never spoke again.

That is her remembering her old purpose.
Her purpose in her previous life, as the Gloam Eyed Queen that birthed the Godskins and hunted the Gods in the distant past. Now she directs that at you, the Lord of the Frenzied Flame. Her memories were probably unsealed alongside the Rune of Death with Maliketh's defeat.
There is a lot of missed potential though, that she doesn't still become that persona even if you manage to skip the Frenzied Flame ending through the Golden Needle. Because by all rights, she should have the same memory unlocking event. Either in opposition to the player or at their side.

Objectively the Frenzied Flame ending is the only one worth doing. Everything else is for narrow minds. All are simply transferred into an omnipotent dimensionality. In other words: big tiddy goth girl waifu heaven multiplied by infinite. It is a perfect force emanating across the land embodying all the entities within at their utmost capacities. Arguing against it makes no sense. It isnt a hive mind ahhh save me niggerman type ending as it is portrayed. That is what you walk into when you start a playthrough actually. But people cant understand that. Melena or whatever her name is just gets pissed because she couldnt have things her way, recycling struggle and suffering forever. She wanted a slow burn hell for everyone so she could feel special.

The coolest piece of lore to come out of Nightreign is the existence of Frenzy demons. Not only is it just a cool piece of flavor for the world but it helps explain the mystery behind Shabiri. He was a demon in human skin trying to plunge the world into chaos from the very start.
