They were also extremely good for splattering players. In the absence of any of its hard counters a good banshee pilot was an absolute menace, especially since not many people seemed to know that the assault rifle fires the same bullets as the warthog's chaingun and is therefore remarkably effective at taking down a banshee when two or three people focus fire on it.

In the lore, Master Chief and most of the other Spartans were fucking Superman, the Covenant could probably go toe-to-toe with a good chunk of 40k and the Flood was actual, biblical Satan.
None of that transferred to gameplay tho

Marines almost always eventually eat shit against the Covvies without the player's intervention, so that at least lines up with canon.

Depends on the game. They eat shit in CE because they usually have ARs and ARs are shit. They're much better off in Halo 2 and 3 because you can swap them out for weapons better suited to their scripted engagement distances. Giving them all battle rifles lets them deal with most enemies. They still drop hard to covenant precision weapons like carbines and beam rifles though.
Anonymous No.718721720 >>718721991
Useless whenever people spawn with BR/precision weapons. Just like everything else that's fun in the sandbox.

I will never forgive 343i for making every single playlist a BR start in MCC when it was the complete opposite in the actual games. The BR (and the carbine) is a pseudo-power weapon in multiplayer and should be treated as such.

I would classify that as player intervention; we can only assume that the weapons they spawn with are supposed to be a broadly accurate representation of what Marines are "supposed to be" carrying in each situation.

They also eat shit in CE because the Marines in that game specifically have incredibly low flinch thresholds. They flinch from pretty much every attack and effectively get stun locked from sustained fire.

In Halo 2 yeah, with Halo 3 reintroducing the AR it's more of a mixture and IIRC the AR was normally the most common weapon.

I'm actually curious what the lore says about this.
I always assumed cortana was helping out chief, but then I remembered other spartans don't get AIs and there's parts of halo 3 where you drive a tank without her in you.

Today, I will remind them that nobody has found "Pimps at Sea", which is the other hidden half of Halo that BUNGIE created for their "World domination" plan.

IIRC it's because all Spartans have some neural port that lets them plug their brain into the tank. Regular humans can have it too but it's much less common, I think Keyes has one visible on the back of his head.

Did you never play Halo 3? After Halo 3 launched, the Xbox 360 profiles of BUNGIE employees showed them playing a game called "Pimps at Sea", this was hinted at the time to be an "Alpha" version of Halo 3, that only the developers could play.

However, now, because of the new knowledge from my FROM SOFTWARE lawsuit exposing that games have hidden games hidden in them, it becomes obvious that BUNGIE wanted in on what Japan was doing, and created another entire game hiding inside Halo 3. We call that game "Pimps at Sea". Nobody has publically found it yet, but according to BUNGIE's official website, it may be tied to their search for Ling-Ling's skull in their World Domination plan.

I'm playing Halo ODST for the first time and I have a rough relationship with this game. In one hand, it's fun flanking enemies with the pistol, on the other hand, everyone's so goddamn tanky on Heroic and the angle plasma grenades are thrown is just weird. I just finished the Micky mission and it was a pain in the ass. Thank god for Needlers.
Anonymous No.718729185
>>718726451
Bungie kind of forgot that they made the Scorpion a two-man vehicle for regular humans, only the CE version has a seat for a second crew member visible. In 2, 3, and Reach the Scorpion very clearly only has one seat for the driver and that's it.

Anonymous No.718731981 >>718732354

Globohomo is about entropy maximalism. It is the spiritual death which brings about the mental death which eventually brings the physical death. It inverts all things, all aspects of nature, creating figurative antimatter, annihilating into waste thermal energy which cannot be directed toward any meaningful work. /v/ is too dumb a board for me to go into the metaphysics of this, but give it some thought.

Anonymous No.718732865 >>718734348
>>718732354
The anti-spiral was able to manifest greatness and manliness in its final moments to defend its worldview at least. Globohomo in the same situation would've kept attempting to scold, gaslight, shame, confuse, and distract Simon until they could find some hole to hide in. I guess globohomo could be accurately thought of as antispiral + the combine but any cool or aesthetic elements removed.

The hitbox is fine. You can hijack them midflight, you just have to do it from behind.
