There is one mod that synchronizes mod glamours (big tiddies, custom thongs, etc) with other players so they can see what a degenerate faggot you are. The dev was monetizing the fuck out of it, to the tune of millions of dollars. So Square-Enix told him to get fucked and sent him a cease&desist order. It was just one mod, and it was because of his gross monetization off their assets. It really had nothing to do with modding specifically. It's the same shit other publishers do when people try to monetize their stuff.
