Times you replayed and finished a game after failing years before?
15 years ago I lost to Joker on the final battle of Arkham Asylum and never played it again. It was just too hard is all. I couldn't do it. I fucking failed. This ate away at me for years.
Last year I finally replayed Asylum and actually finished it and then went on to the other games.
>Arkham Asylum - 100% without guides, plus all predator and most of the combat challenges (you know the one that's missing).
>Arkham City - 100% without guides, all challenges for all characters (yes even Joker's Carnival).
>Arkham Origins - 100% without guides, all challenges for all characters.
>Arkham Knight - 100% without guides, all predator challenges for all characters, only missing some of the combat and Batmobile challenges. Will eventually finish them.
Feels good, man.

The story is incredibly easy even on the highest difficulty, and joker might actually be the easiest boss fight. Still a fun game though. The combat challenges after you beat the game are where the real difficulty is.

Kinda fitting he turned into a roid monster since everyone in the game was comically jacked.

Nefarious in Up Your Arsenal. Will eventually replay it in my FreeMcBoot PS2.

Metal Gear Solid 2 on European Extreme.

Played when I was 8, and was stuck on fucking Vamp for like a year until I finally beat the cocksucker. Then I was stuck on the Metal Gear Rays for probably a good 6 months. Then when I got to the final Solidus choke scene before the final boss I just couldn't do it.

When I was 26 I bought an old PS3 and played the HD Collection and finally did it. And of course it wasn't too bad. Feels good.

You should try Dead as Disco. It's not an open world game, but the Arkham combat is in there mixed with a rhythm game. It's actually pretty great.

Holy shit, how long did it take you? Completing all predator challenges without guides sounds like a pain

I maxed out all the weapons in mass effect 3's multiplayer a few years back.
It took so goddamn long even years before finishing it but I finally did it.

It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done in vidya, and I'm an NES kid who started out no deathing Super Mario Bros and beating Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I never thought I would beat Joker's Carnival but then, about 4 months into my Arkham series run, ended up beating it with all of the characters in about two days once it clicked. The only other thing that came close to that level of difficulty was the first predator mission in AK with Nightwing, witch is complete dog shit, and the electric floor combat challenge in Asylum, which I have yet to beat.

But all together up to this point:
Asylum: 23.5 hours
City: 151 hours
Origins: 149 hours (also finished I Am the Night)
Knight: 170 hours

>and the electric floor combat challenge in Asylum, which I have yet to beat.
This honestly is the hardest challenge in the game, so it's understandable
But still, beating beating all predator challenges without a guide is an impressive feat, assuming you did get all medals. I'm curious, how long does it usually take to finish a predator challenge to get all medals?

As a kid I never beat Sonic Adventure 2 on Gamecube, because of biolizard.
A few years ago I replayed it on PC and then stopped playing after I got a game over on biolizard, and I still haven't finished it

Bloodborne, I got as far as the dude with the birdcage on his head, pretty near the end of the game, before I got so mad at the game that I sold it. I had never played a souls game before, I didn't "get it," and then about five years later I picked up Dark Souls and loved it, then slammed through DaS2/3/Bloodborne/Sekiro/Elden Ring. Coming back to it with a totally different mindset was a trip, suddenly that frustration became fun.

When I was 12 I got Dead Rising because I loved zombie movies. About 2 hours in I encountered Adam and shut the game off because I was so scared of him.
Went back 7 years later and turns out it's my favorite game of all time.

All medals. Some of them took much longer than others. The predator challenges in AK are the hardest by far. Most of the ones in City and Origins could be finished with all characters in maybe an hour, with some exceptions if there was something tricky you needed to do. There was a Deathstroke predator challenge that had me stuck for days and all of the Wonder Tower challenges are annoying. The worst in the series was the first one with nightwing in AK, which is actually bugged since the glass randomly breaks on its own. The predator challenges all have a comfy flow to them though where you memorize where the enemies are and basically "learn" the map in-depth, and by the time you beat it with one character it's easier to beat it with the rest in short order.

I got PoP Warrior Within and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for free with my Geforce 6600GT in 2005. I still have the discs in their little paper sleeves.
I played through Chaos Theory and loved it. PoP Sands of Time was one of my favourite games so I was looking forward to Warrior Within, but I got worn down by the incredibly vague backtracking and the combat started becoming quite unfair, so I abandoned it. Just last year I reinstalled and finished it, and didn't really enjoy it, but worked out I could just cheese or avoid most of the combat. It felt like scratching a really annoying itch.

Can confirm. I bit my knee. I love the Arkham games but man there's some jank.

I still need to go back and finish:
>Okami
I quit on the last boss after literally 80 hours. I think about it almost every day. I know that I have to beat it some day but it's such a long game.
>Beyond Good and Evil
I got stuck on the password that you're just supposed to know somehow. I tried everything I could think of and refused to look up any guides so I eventually just gave up. I might play it again soon.

Ty, never got to finish it as a kid because it was too hard, never even got to fight the first boss (yet I managed to beat MGS 2 & 3). One day I saw it on the PS Store and decided to buy it on a whim, beat the game in like 3 days, pretty cool I guess but a lot of the levels felt empty, and it was such a chore walking across the map for just one opal.

Oh, and also, just recently I also finished Alice: Madness Returns. I bought this with a GAME voucher I got from my team at work for my birthday. There was literally nothing else in the shop for PC that I wanted or hadn't already played. I played it for a bit and it was okay, but at some point I just stopped and never went back to it, but I always intended to. That time finally came a few months ago. I thought I was quite a long way into the game but turns out I had only played it for about an hour, I was still on the 1st chapter. I stopped having fun about halfway into the game, it goes on far, far too long. But out of a sense of duty I finished it.

>>718748140
Yeah, but you still have to work out exactly how to get there. You can quite easily take a wrong turn or climb up the wrong thing, and then have to spend ages retracing your steps
