The final boss has a variety of projectiles and moves to a good distance to use them at, like any reasonable projectile user. Don't be a little bitch mad that the strategy isn't diving headfirst toward someone's dick.

The fight clearly isn't designed around Torrent. The enclosing rings don't even have to be jumped since Torrent can stil sprint through even when hit, the chip damage from the needles and some sword strikes is totally taken by him (and he restores HP), he easily outpaces Elden Stars and goes flying in a janky way if hit at all, he can take places out of range of even the light show that part of the fight is meant to be, the sword beams become a mega combo if someone gets hit, etc.

Also it looks like an attack that Torrent should be able to jump over. But it hits above as well. Really annoying

If Torrent can't even be summoned in the boss rooms of fellow members of his species, why can he be summoned in a sealed-off space ^2?

I have beaten Melenia and the bosses of the DLC up to NG+8 but I use mimic and whatever summons I have for the last 4 bosses of the base game because I do not care for them, especially Godfrey and his arena wide AoE.

Yeah, the hitboxes on the beam slashes are enormous, people discovered that years ago while testing Thops' Barrier. If the player gets knocked off of Torrent during that attack, they have to hope that the Tarnished's writhing animation makes the center of their hitbox (or whatever section the Elden Beast is targeting) go just low enough to (or into) the floor for the Elden Beast to miss with the next beam(s). If not, it's a guaranteed hit until dodge-rolling is enabled again.

Miyazaki and friends wanna make a bullet hell game but they know they HAVE to sell more i-frame rollslop so for elden ring the bosses that don't infinitely attack you will instead bullet hell meme you. They did it more in the DLC, honestly. The faggy ghost thing riding a horse is a great example, and shit like Bayle where he either full screen tackles you or just flies away to pew pew you with fire and fire lasers and explosions and homing balls of shit. That's why the bosses are so lame and why you're given many tools to out-lame them AKA bleed them to death to finish the tedious fight faster. If they can't bleed then use some other meme shit. They lost their good boss design a long time ago.
