random terraforming. lifting the ground next to the entrance to the bridge and then going to have a stream flow down past it (and wheat growing on the left side below the cliffisde base)

It looks like edgy slop I know, but holy fuck this dude actually created a world with amazing animation and characters I'm super interested in. I really, really hope he makes more.

release 1.0 is a more cohesive video game than the current version + hunger is a flawed system from the getgo and durability doesnt work in modern versions and needs to go

I think I made the prison cell of a murderer a little too nice, but whatever.
I am worried about an iron golem spawning in there and killing him.

came back up looking for coal again (ended up wasting all the wood I brought down on turning them into torches, these fucking caves go on for so long now). I love how even the random holes in the ground can be so picturesque with beta terrain gen
anyway that's all the moderately interesting stuff I have for now, going to keep working on my wall. not sure what to do for the top, I want to have it wide enough to not feel crowded when walking across but feel like it'll look a bit weird if it starts bulging to fit a 5 or 7 block wide top part when the support is only 3 blocks wide + greebling adding an extra block on each side
>>718744123
thanks anon. Golden Days + Nostalgic Tweaks + Hybrid Beta has been enough to get me interested in the game again. turns out there really IS something special about the old beta aesthetic + worldgen. Also means I can bring back some old features I think are cool like Alpha firespread, wish that made it into modern vanilla, especially considering lightning rods still exist - would be cool if stuff like thunderstorms felt like actual threats that could wreak havoc on a unprepared player
>>718744142
I will one day when it gets worldgen I actually like. I wish there was something equivalent to Terraforged for it, vanilla worldgen looks like shit and modded isn't much better, looks like shitty Minecraft modern worldgen with all the feeling of a homogenous world that looks the same no matter how far you go and generates in the same patterns
>>718744217
thanks anon, will give a look
>>718744306
I definitely agree that b1.7.3-1.0 feels more cohesive even if there's way less to technically do. modern vanilla feels like a weird mixture of stuff clumsily tacked on with little thought that messes with the core base feel and stuff shoved into its own bubble that noone cares about. like the 'new' (holy fuck it's been like 10 years) stones vs. idk turtles

Do you not know what witches are? They've been in the game since 2012, dude.
I mean yes I am playing with mods, this is the PSX pack, but what?
Also please don't stare at my erect copper lightning rod tower.

I don't, in fact. I haven't played Minecraft since elementary school and only ever used GODmode to build cool stuff.

Damn man, fucked up. You probably lost your account with the microsoft merge thing like I did, then.
I actually really do like the pillager faction, evil fucked up villagers that are into dark magic, following the player around and doing shit behind the scenes.

Try working with whatever you spawn in, and build to match the aesthetic of the area. Jungle? Build in the trees.
Plains? Build normal.
Mountain? Go dwarf mode.
Spruce forest? Build a comfy cabin.
etc

Probably, I heard a lot of people complain about that. Will have to use a cracked version if I ever play again because I don't want to support Microsoft.

That sounds pretty nice, actually.

Building on Survival or Creative?

I started off building in Creative. If you can find the right spot though, building in Survival can be quite satisfying.

Though not being able to craft Iron Bars is eyebrow-raising. I looted a Stronghold then rebuilt it from scratch using polished stone.

Find the seed that's right for you

For me it was one with most biomes and structures within a single quadrant, and a stronghold under the village.

Survival
I think you've been able to make bars for a long time anon, might not've been able to in b1.8 but you definitely have been able to as far back as I can remember ever using them

Most seeds I've generated they're like 10k squares away or something crazy

On my first seed I had to travel in the nether for 10+ minutes straight, on creative mind you, just to find the closest one

even the most basic ones will get you enough iron if you are just sticking with something like iron bars, granted the set up can be annoying since you have to tard wrangle a zombie and several villagers

>Villagers can die in the most retarded ways possible, they're like hamsters.
If it's night time and there's no bed, they'll just stand around outside waiting to die.
>If you have ANYTHING that's more than three blocks high and they can get on top of it, they will jump off it repeatedly to kill themselves.
>Sometimes they'll just fucking leave doors open when going to bed at night, letting zombies into their house.
>If there's any water in your village more than one block deep, and it's not all source blocks, they'll get stuck in it forever and wait for zombies to eat them.
>They'll walk onto their own naturally spawning campfires and burn to death.

the original soundtrack still holds up to this day, not even including nostalgia
the newer stuff doesnt really hit the same, even if some are bops. im not a huge fan of vidya music to begin with, but I think minecraft is the only one where I look up the OST just to hear it. minecraft and runescape really

there's an undercurrent that runs through all of C418's music that's missing from the stuff done by the Microsoft contractors, there's a reason I turned that shit off
and it's all because M$ doesn't want to give C418 any rights to any newer music. Say what you will about Notch but at least he had the decency to give him a fair shake

I can't place it or explain. I don't know if it's because there's more going to it, the tone of the instruments, or what. It's almost generic, something I'd hear in a mall.
