Pre-ordering a game months ahead of launch when it's just been announced is dumb and you shouldn't do that. But if that game will be out in less than a week and you're going to be getting it at launch anyway because you've done your research and know it's a game you want to play, what's the issue with paying early and getting a preload so it's ready to play as soon as possible?

I agree, imo the only issue is if they seller considers the preorder some kinda separate event from a regular sale, so whereas you'd be able to return a game if it sucks, you can't return a preorder even if it's past the same amount of time

But then again, how often did we return games back in ye olden days of buying disks? If it ate ass we just said "oh man" and sold it or gave it to a mate or had it sit on the shelf for years till we maybe reconsider
On the other hand I'd much rather do that with a physical disk than some shit in my online library
