Do people actually like the smell of most perfumes? They all smell awful, way too harsh and unpleasant, they no longer actually smell like wood or citrus or vanilla or something pleasant like that, and instead like carwash chemicals with "a hint of vanilla" aka another chemical compound that some people perceive as mimicking the scent of vanilla in their head but not really
Are we just meant to trust that perfume smells great when it's really just a way of capturing the attention of strangers with an intense smell? Or is it based on the fear of smelling like a human being, cover yourself in so much crap that if you produce even a single pheromone or a tinge of sweat thruout the day, nobody will know?
