Is Runescape any good? I'm looking for a good mmo.

runescape has its strange form of fun but it's not an "MMO" the same way you're probably used to if you never play it, modern runescape is kinda ass but you can still find nice private servers
or just hop on modern if you don't care too much and wanna mine coal for hours while watching some asshole beat a goblin fifty times over and maybe some limited human communication

WOW is much more fun imo, but that kinda got stinky too, also you gotta pay for it and that's just the peak of AIDS so again, find a nice oldschool style private server

no not outside of nostalgia.
what all those jewtubers and streamers don't tell you is that it's 99% a solo game until the endgame, which takes like 1000 hours.
And the endgame is very niche, you need to enjoy raiding with osrs combat mechanics

No, it's a completely retarded grind game, where you do nothing but grind alone all day. It's the completely anti-thesis of MMOs, similar to theme park MMOs.
MMOs are about players literally forming the world by founding cities, dabbling in politics, crafting individualized items and hunting together for resources and treasure in an open, non-linear fashion.
Today, this "true MMO experience" is only found in various survival games on private servers, like Conan Exiles, or reverse engineered stuff like Star Wars Galaxies.
