How do we know he hasn't sent innocent people in jail or worse to the death row?

Since he's such an incompetent detective
Anonymous No.718754336
We know and let him slide because he has a good look.
Anonymous No.718754967
He probably did but you can't really blame a prosecutor for it too much.
There's the police who should carry a proper investigation, there is the judge who should evaluate whether you have a proper case against somebody with no room for doubt, and there is a defense attorney who should make sure to bring up every argument in favor of the defendant regardless of his beliefs and especially call out the prosecution on bullshit.
The entire thing is failing apart here if he's just allowed to do that.

Before 1-5 turned Miles into some "ackshually did nothing wrong" wholesomechungus (it was written, created and released after 3-5 chronologically) it was indeed implied he sent must have sent innocent people to jail and to die. In 1-2 he briefly exposes his philosophy to Phoenix. You don't know who's innocent or guilty and he worked to the best of his ability to reach a satisfactory verdict (for himself)

The individual cases kind of suck as murder mysteries, but I still really like the game as a whole for its characters (Kay is objectively the best AA sidekick) and its presentation (walking around instead of navigating the whole game through menus is neat). Stuff like making deals with witnesses and pressuring the coroner to update the autopsy report in his favor wasn't forging evidence

They did an absolute shit job with 1-3. Looking at the GBA sprite sheet vs original renders It seems that they drew the arwork for the sprites, and after scanning + compressing + resizing them, they touched up the details to clean up the pixelwork so everything looked best for the GBA. But they didn't do jack shit for the hd release, just the mos generics of enlarge and filter. Looks like ass.
Apollo Justice has phenomenal artwork quality and the sprites look amazing in every system. They were probably drawn thinking forward as well.

I know for the Investigations remaster, the graphics are just the original illustrations before they were downscaled to fit the DS's resolution. The exact graphics that are in the remaster are in the artbook from a decade ago. I was always under the impression that the original trilogy remaster was the same. It definitely is for the CGs and backgrounds, but I'm not sure about the character sprites. I know for sure that the GBA/DS graphics are not pure pixel art. You can tell by looking at how lines are anti-aliased. They definitely used some sort of illustrations as a base.

Investigations or apollo levels of quality artwork for the original games simply does not exist and they weren't willing to create it for the occasion. The original trilogy comes of really lazy comparatively speaking.
When it comes to it the linework and artwork for the original games isn't really that hot and looks better on the original system because of both the manual work made after downscaling/manually editing each individual sprite, and downscaling naturally hiding imperfections by nature.

Statistically speaking, he did that.
He didn't fight for truth, but just to win. Also, tries to munipulate everything in order to win, and the judge is biased against the defense by default, as in this world is "guilty until proven innocent".

He is not incompetent, he was fighting to win, not for truth.

the director woman of 1-3 is like the sole exception from this that i can think of, hell she didn't even commit murder, it was self defense.

in japan, lawyers (the defense) can't do the job of the detectives... the investigative part is on the police and prosecutors entirely, at best all you can do is gather info from outside that can help the investigation and your client directly
since AA is based in the japan law system with some US in the mix...
the police force is on the side of prosecutors (as in, not allowing the defense to look for evidence in the crime scene until late, or if at all in some cases unless you have some kind of permit)
he has to do it not because he can, but because he HAS to or else he can't defend his clients, AND because he can't pay any sort of private detective, otherwise, all of his cases would probably end up in guilty veredicts with many innocent people in prison if we were realistic
the fact that every case is solved with you barely winning IS because you did what would've been impossible without proper investigation (which remains on the prosecutor's side)
Edgeworth and Franziska literally gatekeeps the info they want and Phoenix has to obtain it from outer sources
i believe there was a case where you get to a key witness that the prosecutor had yet to reach, and when they do, they claim them as police protected, snatching and preventing you from further questioning

Hell it's a plot point that "Oh No we can't let this trial go on one more day because Maya's life will be at risk" which is similar to 2-4 but that's not important.
