Why do people pretend this lore is insanely hard to understand? It's incredibly simple

Who even cares about lore? The only narrative element that's relevant is that the robots kill people.

It *was* simple, it just got progressively more complicated the moment Scott retconned the killer getting caught by the police before FNAF1 into the killer never being caught and becoming the first overarching antagonist of the series.

because 80% of the "lore" are assumptions

It was simple until Sister Location fucked it beyond repair, and it only got worse from there. Though FNAF4 was pretty fucking confusing too, with all the dream theory shit

Sister Location was so shit it's unreal. Supposedly a prequel but with the super futuristic setting, the le funny evil corporation gimmick, no actual FNAF gamplay

its not hard because is complicated, is hard because scott is incredibly vague when possible, retconned half the story and a lot of apparently important parts are actually pointless and lead to nothing

So whatever happened to that original theory of the game being an allegory to an irl chuck e cheese shooting or whatever it was? Was it just coincedental bullshit in the end? The first game still feels like it basically has nothing to do with everything else that was farted out since
