Can you really get into this game without spending any money?

It's possible, but it's more of a $45 game with a 200-hour demo if you want to be comfy.

yes and no. you could certainly enjoy it and play enough to know you wanna spend ~40 bucks on it. so i'd call that "getting into it".
but you wouldn't spend further 100's of hours without spending that unless you are chronically third world.
it'd be so annoying and timewasting without some basics like currency/map/premium tab and maybe a quad tab at least, idk why you would do that unless making some retarded stand about spending some money on a game you like.

and in a more pedantic sense no, the early access is currently a buy-in only, so you can't.
that said the next update launches with a free weekend, but for all we know it could be a terrible experience with lag, DDoS, and bugs in those first days after patch. (they used to have mostly smooth launches except Ultimatum league, but lately things have been fucked)

Getting in to the game usually makes you spend a small amount of money

you can't enjoy it without the beacon of salvation hideout.

You can complete the campaign without it, but the campaign is basically just a 20 hour tutorial (20 hours assumes you are a completely new player that's not following any guides but also don't filter yourself out). The real game is farming the map system post-campaign.

Once you get into maps you need to spend around $20 to get a couple extremely important tabs, otherwise item management becomes a nightmare. You might be able to spend less than $20 if you're extremely judicious, get lucky with the timing on a sale, know exactly what you're going to buy, and completely forget about storing the thousand other bits and pieces that have some moderate trade value but that you just don't have storage for.

just a few stash tabs, convert one into the new merchant tab that lets you sell shit as an NPC shop
Anonymous No.718764158 [Report]
you can but by the time you get a bit into the endgame you'll wanna spend like 20 bucks on some stash tabs, for storage/convenience and to sell stuff.
Anonymous No.718764379 [Report]
kinda strange quad tabs cant be used for merchant tabs
Anonymous No.718765675 [Report]
so just a couple of stash tabs?

You missed out on the turtle hideout, so there is ZERO reason to play now.

>early access for the next 8 years while they try and figure out what the fuck they're trying to do with the game
No, you need to spend 30 dollars to play it. You can play it for free once it's out of (((early access))) and by that point it will be abandonware.

You just need to spend $10 or $20 for stash tabs when they're on sale.

Unless you absolutely need a space Hideout (there's only you can get from grinding as a permanent reward by the way), there's plenty of good ones with default aesthetic.
>Lush
>Stately
>Coral
>Desert
>Luxurious
>Cartographer's
All available for free with 0 grinding.
But then when you realize you can decorate Hideouts and utterly revamp some, it becomes far, far more robust.
You can turn verdant landscapes into charred hellscapes, dingy sewers into opulent palaces, as some simple examples.
And if you don't wanna learn how to do it, you can just take someone else's from the Internet and import it instantly at no cost.

It varies lately. For example, the monthly stash sale is right now, BEFORE the new League starts.

The turtle is available in PoE2? Kind of annoying that you can't use that empty galaxy hideout in 2 yet. That means, if they ever convert old hideouts to 2 in the future.

>20 hour
Is this the case I thought that the campaign would have been longer? I don't mind paying 25 gbp but I will probably drop the game after finishing the campaign and then playing for 10 hours or so so don't want to pay if I can play for free. Never got into Diablo 3's endgame, I expect PoE 2 to be the same.
Anonymous No.718772269 [Report]
Realistically speaking 30 bucks at most is what you would need to spend MAX
are you going to let that stop you from experiencing one of the best arpg on the market ?
you get enough shop currency with the access key to set you up forever

The premium stash tabs autosort your items saves tons of time and space. The free tabs aren't enough and don't sort things and can't list things on the market. Everything else is just cosmetics.

>The premium stash tabs autosort your items
That can be done without Premium tabs, but you definitely don't get enough space to do it properly without at least some extra tabs.

Played PoE1 around 10 years ago and ran a SRS spam witch to shut my brain off and relax.
Dropped it because the Kaom and D'Alessio (or whatever) expansion cranked up the difficulty so hard than only bullshit ultra-meta builds were viable.
Hardcore minmaxing isn't really fun, at least for me.
Is 2 more "noob-friendly"?

It's unbelievably faster if you have specific premium tabs that automatically sort items as soon as you click stash them. Given how much shit and atomised currency drops, it saves time tremendously. I wouldn't wish anyone to play without those tabs for longer than the trying out phase.

But anyway, yes, PoE2 is much more noob-friendly. And as long as you're willing to download 100 GB of data, it'll be free to play with the 0.3 update next Friday.
