This is why I love arma.
There's a place for fast jumpy shooters but it feels more out of place the more realistic a military themed it is.

It's very much a movement shooter, but it isn't like COD where you just spam the slide and jump key, the "meta" style of gameplay requires quickly inputting combination of keys to abuse animation cancelling and a few bugs. If you wanna look up what it looks like just YouTube "Gunz k-style".

Those shooters had smoother intuitive movement and you didn’t suddenly push yourself forward unless you rocket jumped. The new breed of “movement shooter” is all about sliding to suddenly shoot yourself forward and abruptly stopping and going another direction unpredictably over and over like a spastic. I am not convinced it’s only 30+ gamers who hate this shit, I don’t know how consolefags who don’t have third party controllers with extra buttons deal with it.

its not zoomers at all, its the older people who dont game as often and want to roleplay like theyre on the frontlines irl. people got insanely good at fps over the years especially during covid when people had nothing better to do, so when these players combine their fps fundamentals with the movement the game allows for aggression in gunfights boomers lose their minds because they simply suck at reacting to things to flick or track them for long. most of these people camp when they play these games anyway so they never even know these things are in the game until some streamer posts it on twitter, and when they get hit by it by better player they shit their pants and scream because they cant keep up.

I agree it's what the kids know these days because they've grown up with them for the last 10 plus years. Cod4 would be a snorefest for them. I actually think Bf6 is way more intense than cod4 ever was. Unfortunately battlefield died when they wanted the cod audience from bad company. Bc2 was still a great game but Bf3 cemented the fact that they were going for that slicker feel. Bf6 is clearly an infantry death match shooter with awfully designed kill house style small maps, tacked on vehicles and game modes, plus the fast movement.

The issue is people who want movement bugs in the game don't actually want to play movement shooters like Apex Legends or The Finals. Instead they just want to use exploits and dominate lobby of people who don't want to bother with any of it. Like there's literally nothing stops these people to play this instead but hey won't.
