I remember people reacting with shock and derision when it was alleged by insiders that there was a literal plot by troons to make all female characters masculine to help them pass by comparison. If you brought it up you were called a schizo or a retard. Look at Manny McManface over there, no woman fucking looks like that. I've literally never seen a woman with a face that masculine in my life.

This has been the case for like 3-4 expansions at this point. If you haven't quit the game at this point, you never will. Might as well just load up $5000 on your subscription so you can AFK in stormwind/orgrimmar for the rest of your life.

They were only as good as they were specifically because they were in-house, and had people committed to the vision of warcraft. It's why blizzard cinematics were always better than Blur's even though Blur is technically a more skilled CGI house. At this point everybody at blizzard is just there because it's a job and a paycheck. There are no more legacy studios that exist with a group of employees committed to the vision. And that comes through in everything including their trailers and cinematics.
Maybe Sandfall? But that remains to be seen. Maybe Kojima. But none of the household name type legacy studios.

The problem is the actual overall company drank too much of the Koolaid for longer than this whole 'kill all fantasy' craze has been going on.

Those aren't blood elves. What the fuck happened to the music at the end, what sort of god damn Disney channel shit was that? You're telling me void feet lady is so incompetent she just plays with her food for what is portrayed to be a super long amount of time based on the time skips? WoW trailers have been dying, and say what you will about BFA or the trailer, but that was the last good trailer without there being something pants on head retarded going on. It's a long combat sequence with some camera tricks so they didn't have to animate everything, but lore wise it has Anduin's absolutely fucking absurd moment showcasing how genuinely in tune with the light he was. Yeah it's cheesy but it's purposefully reminiscent of the Warcraft 3 cinematic cause "lol it's time for a PVP expansion." This fucking Midnight cinematic is an absolute joke. They did the exact sequence they did with the Diablo 4 expansion trailer for some reason except markedly worse. The moment Lor'themar might ACTUALLY have a chance to not be portrayed as a cuck he's still left hanging. The combat sequences were way more focused on some sort of dance routine and they were way too short. It felt more like people were hitting or getting hit by air. It's actually surprising how shit the choreography was this time around from Blizzard.

Blizzard has had inhouse cinematics for like 25+ years at this point and they have ALWAYS been the best looking CGI cinematics in the industry, bar absolutely none

Considering the TWW trailer was released in November 2023, just after Blizzard joined Microsoft completely, this had to be a exec decision to outsource the cinematics to another team.

I refuse that to believe that the same team from less than 2 years ago produced the midnight cinematic.

I can only hope that Blizz has another one lined up worked on by their inhouse team and they outsourced this one for Gamescom and the ESO cinematic team did the work to save time

I just went back and watched TWW cinematic, then realised there was a second one. The one with the shitty black woman with one arm, the troll-elf and the earthen doing stuff. Shadows beneath I think it was called?

It looked significantly worse than the announcement cinematic (The anduin and thrall one) and the face of the black woman definitely matched the style of the Midnight trailer.
I went back to Shadowlands and they had two trailers there as well, the really good one with Sylvanas fighting Bolvar, and then a less impressive one showing off the covenants and the jailer. It was harder to tell, but I feel like that one possibly could have been outsourced too because it just didnt quite match up to blizz's usual standard.

It looks like for the past couple years, Blizz's game plan has been "Make one trailer for advertising game announcement, make another for advertising game launch"

Its just that usually they do the announcement one in house, and the launch one gets outsourced by the marketing department. Maybe they flipped the script and did it the other way around this time and we'll get a nicer one at launch
