The MC didn't deserve Tsugumi. She should've met me when I was 17 and become my girlfriend. It didn't happen so the world broke apart and went to shit and there's nothing that can be done about it anymore. I love you, Tsugumi.

I just recently got into the Infinity series and finished reading Ever17 and Remember11. My puny brain can't understand most of what's going on but I enjoy the ride regardless. Always been a fan of mysteries.
Is Never7 worth it anons? It has a lower score on VNDB and the visuals look really dated, so not sure if it holds up as well as Ever17 and Remember11.

>Better yet, why didn't Tsugumi, the literal super human leave the sub and swim to the surface instead?
she seems to have ordinary athletic abilities
iirc when she's pinning takeshi down in the jellyfish gondola, he says she doesn't feel abnormally strong, just determined.
and she can drown like anyone else, i assume.
she just heals faster, has a turbo immune system and doesn't undergo senescence

actually, if we're being realistic, a body like that would require a lot more oxygen than an ordinary one, so she probably couldn't hold her breath for long

also, the character who's in the medical pod would still be left behind and probably would die by the time takeshi gets to the surface, realizes the character isn't there with the others, and returns in the submersible

I'd say what your saying is reasonable if the MC didn't somehow survive it (with the asspull of the story). Absolutely terrible story.

tsugumi was the only appealing love interest
which i'm sure they were aware of and is why the true route is the way it is

coco is a cute daughter sort of character thoughbeit'vre. but it feels like they should've explained more about her character. like why does she have ESP? she's not some random-sample genetic freak from the general public like tsugumi, she's the daughter of a researcher. did he somehow give her ESP?

they never really hinted at the characters' special abilities very well. like when kaburaki is looking at the blazing-hot door, as a POV character, he doesn't say it's glowing brightly or anything, he just says 'g-guh, i have a vague feeling it might be hot.' why? it should be blindingly bright to him.

Any other JOPchads here who read 12Riven? Personally I thought it was a pretty enjoyable unhinged Uchikoshi trainwreck with some cool ideas, but it's definitely not as good as E17/R11, that's for certain. The inconsistencies and plot holes are pretty egregious and among some of the most retarded shit Uchi has ever written and the finer plot details can be pretty convoluted and hard to follow, not even in a smart way like 13 Sentinels but in a sloppy and retarded way where it seems like even the writers lost track. one thing to note: of the two twins who have a cure parent, the female has enhanced mental abilities and is talking at the age of 1, while the male has enhanced physical abilities and is swimming skillfully to save his sister in the ocean at the age of 2.
so, it's possible that the cure virus has sexually dimorphic effects. maybe in men it makes them much more physically adept.

and maybe the reason takeshi is able to swim to 119m and survive is because the cure virus is sexually transmitted, so he actually got it way earlier than everyone else

>and maybe the reason takeshi is able to swim to 119m and survive is because the cure virus is sexually transmitted, so he actually got it way earlier than everyone else
actually i just realized something which confirms this to be the case

the cure virus functions based on mental optimism and belief. this is why in tsugumi's bad ending, at the very end in IBF she's limping on the wounded leg again. the cure virus stopped working because, well, she doesn't want to keep living in that ending. uchikoshi actually said this explicitly when someone questioned him about it

anyway, that's why takeshi was able to reawaken when he heard his son's voice. it activated the cure virus
same reason he's able to shrug off the bends and stuff like that

sorry but way too much convoluted shit happens to fully explain everything here.
I'll just post some of the main twists without full context
>a person's subliminal unconscious and conscious mind can be separated and fall out of sync, to the point where a significant time lag develops. The conscious mind then perceives a different world called the A-world while your real body stays behind with nothing but a subconscious husk, what you observe in the A-world will overwrite the real world's history after you return and becomes real
>the MC's waifu is critically wounded in a hospital bed the whole time but her true identity isn't clear because she dyed her hair from blue to brown before the game started, the sepia filters in the flashbacks hide her true hair color. MC has to use the A-world to rewrite history to one where she survives
>a PoV swap between the two protagonists and the narration surrounding it is fudged to make you think Narumi's PoV is Renmaru's and trick you about the real date
>the prologue scene where it looks like the two MCs meet and cross paths in the same place was actually one day apart, in two different locations

At first i did the kind of meditation practice where you try to just focus on something and block out all other thoughts. During this of course other thoughts come along. There are different techniques to get them to go away, and i started noticing different thoughts seemed to have a different character, some were easier to make go away than others to the point that i would be cognoscente that there was a thought but i could not even remember what the thought was. Others would return and more effort was required. This was the first puzzle piece: different thoughts are actually different kinds of things, its not all just 'thoughts'. Further experimentation reinforced this. Some thoughts are friendly, others less so, different personalities. The thoughts can be thought of as an entity which contains the actual content of the thoughts, so im not saying 'thinking of different kinds of things', there is not necessarily any correlation between the subject of the thought and its personality type.

i started to notice 'intrusive thoughts' have a certain character. I think people only notice intrusive thoughts when they contain something alarming, not realizing that they have many other intrusive thoughts which seem mundane in their content, and so these easily spring into our train of thought with out notice.
one example, when i was shopping and looking for peanut butter while looking at the different brands, i would think to myself 'thats not the kind we get, we get that! kind'. I realized that i was repeating something i heard as a young child my mom say. She essentially infected me with this thoughtform, this string of linguistics was not my own thinking, but hers, perhaps she got it from someone else.

I then realized that this is essentially what daemons are according to the greeks, and our idea of demons just comes from that. We has mystified them and given them a more negative connotation, but its the same kind of entity.

Since becoming aware of this im more and more conscious of lower level 'noise' occurring at all times in my mind, all along there were linguistical strings floating around in my consciousness. Flashes of thoughts that run through my mind concurrent to my normal inner voice. All kinds of things, loops that get stuck on repeat, self sabotaging bursts, idle speculations.

At one time i thought that maybe demons are all our thinking, that in fact every part of us that is not purely instinctual is just a construct of countless demons hijacking us with linguistics.

Demons in this model are to complete entities with goals etc like viruses are to real life, they are bits of reason that drift around our mind and try to find places to slot into each other, they dont actually have motivations themselves. They can get passed along just like i got the peanut butter demon. Im not sure how, i know of course trauma can do this, which is how trauma programming works, but other things tend to get stuck in our heads when everything seems to be ok.

Its important to notice these, because they can act like suggestions. If you keep thinking certain patterns of ideas because the demon keeps hijacking your train of thought, eventually you will become so accustomed to that thinking you start to integrate it into your own sense of existings rational construct, and you might come to believe the thing the demon has convinced you of through its brute forcing. One might make the distinction here between demonic influence and outright possession. When you have accepted the demon and integrated it you have become possessed.

So thats demons for you

The only thing that can hold these old memories is a diary that will inevitable be destroyed, and with it what remained of your past. That's how most people work, yeah (not counting actual DID schizos). People like to convince themselves they have a constant inner voice because they can actively imagine it, which most people can- imagine the lyrics to a song you like, for example- but passively, that isn't how our brains work. Hell, part of the reason LLMs are still so shit is that they DO operate by 'voice,' take each token (word fragment) in order and best-guess what comes next, when our actual brains work so far out of order and on such a vague scale of relation that we still have basically no idea how the grey meat actually works beyond "well we stuck some wires on it and electric impulses are at play somehow."
