Played a new nice short indie game called The Warrior and got all the trophies for it. It's fun.
Now playing "Is This Seat Taken", one of those rare "wholesome comfy" games that is actually fun and cozy.
After I'm done with that, I'd like to play a bit more Sekiro. On my second replay of it. It's so good.

Very happy to learn that Absolum and Rue Valley got release dates. October 9th and November 11th respectively. Very much looking forward to those games.

i need some advice from you guys, im 42 here. I've been playing video games all my life, in many different genres, from Civilization to Warcraft to Wolfenstein 3D to Halo to Half Life to Fallout to Fornite to Red Dead Redemption to The Witcher to Cyberpunk 2077 and many in between. My wife knew this shortly after we met and of course when we got married. She had always said that she doesn't "get them" or understand why anyone would want to play them but she understood that it was something I found relaxing and enjoyable.

Fast forward to this week and she flat out tells me (while we were arguing about something else) that she thinks video games are juvenile, she can't believe that a 42 year old man plays them, and that playing them makes me less attractive to her. For reference, I'm a manager at work, we have a nice house, four kids and 2 dogs. So it's not like I'm just bumming around. And I take care of my hygiene and appearance - basically I don't fall into any of the negative gamer stereotypes. I also play when everyone else is asleep so it's not cutting into family or housework time. It does mean that I tend to sleep in on weekend mornings though, which she doesn't like, as she's more of a morning person.

what do? Is there any hope of her changing how she feels? She knows that some of them are very much not for kids and that it's a bigger industry than movies, but it doesn't change how she feels. Should I give up gaming? That would feel like a huge sacrifice but would probably have big benefits. Or do we just live with this?

I have to graduate college and get a decent job first just one more year desu. I think my wife and I will have a daily 2 hour productivity allotment where we work on creating stuff, I'm going to make a video game, maybe her thing will help with that.

Still playing Ultimate General Civil War, just finished Fredericksburg, CSA, BG difficulty. I actually had more dudes because I completely wiped those yankees out at Antietam.

Also playing Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. Finished the Confederacy campaign this week. Last mission wasn't even that hard, I just walzed through with my big guns and camped in front of the enemy fortress' gates until I could gear up and smash them.
Now I'm doing the Republic Campaign.

Also finished Mystery of the Druids because I never played it back in the day and wanted to know what the memes are about. It's decent-ish, but some of the puzzles are really puzzling the mind. I actually did use a walkthrough because sometimes I didn't know if it was just a bug or me being retarded. Turns out neither, just needlessly convoluted puzzles. I understand that you can't consider ALL possible solutions people can come up with, but you can at least design your puzzle in such a fashion that there is only one logical solution.

Besides work kinda sucking, there has been some trouble with the HOA here. I am only a tenant, but apparently something I did on the balcony (well within the law and everything) made some asshole get his panties in a twist and they bothered my landlady, who then bothered me. It's nothing bad, just annoying. I wish I had the money to just buy some land and build a house and not having to deal with people anymore.

I don't know, thing is that digital entertainment is now 50 years old, if you count in the 1970's. At this point in anyone's life scoffing at someone who enjoys occasional vidya is just retarded.
It's like are you going to stop watching television when you are x years old? Or are you going to stop playing guitar when you are x years old because you are supposedly too old to play guitar? And so on.
Go on with your life. Seems like you may need to begin to think about divorce, I doubt these issues are only related to gaming..

Bro, what do???
What do you mean what do?
It's like if after 10 years of knowing your wife likes to collect dolls you went and told her you think it's childish and it makes her less attractive.

I'm going to lay it down for you crystal clear pal and i know you won't do it seeing the naive nature of your question.
I'd leave her and keep enjoying my life.
Just like that.
Good luck m8

I doubt I can teach you anything, since, as mentioned, I play on BG.
But in the thread on /vst/ someone suggested to push them away into a corner so they won't be able to fall back to the Hornet's Nest in the first place anymore.

nothing! working on my game gives me more fun than playing games, and will keep doing that until burnout hits
>What's been bothering you?
nothing really. Just wish modern games didn't suck so much ass, all plaing the same and all striving for realism. Fuck that.

Probably nothing tonight but I got my first PS4 recently, been playing a few games. Now that I can jailbreak it I downloaded Densha de GO! Love the whole series. I also got an old PSVR too, played Astro Bot Rescue Mission for the first time this week. Adorable game.
