>Christianity's whole thing is that everything good that you believe should come your way will be rewarded to you in the afterlife, not your present one.
You never read the Bible. Your idea of Christianity is taken from whatever random corner of the internet you could find that just discusses dogma or whatever out of context stuff. God does give good things to people in their Earthly lives. The fact you are event able to enjoy any good feeling at all to begin with is already immediate gift from God, cause without it, you'd just constantly be miserable with no way to feel any better via laugh, or sating your hunger or literally anything else.
God withholds no good from those who walk uprightly, and the ultimate good is often found in a direction relationship with Him, even amidst hardships, like seen in the story with Job. He lost everything and had to go through a period of absolute misery, but such is life here on Earth, you will eventually come across events like that in life regardless of whether you are good or not, but God is still with you, as He was with Job and provides relief for those who suffer through their relationship and connection with Him, and at the end of Job's suffering, God ultimately rewarding him back tenfold what he previously lost, so it's the same in life. Maybe not tot that big of an extreme for most, but it can range anywhere from being denied a job you thought you really needed only to later have luck gaining a job in another place that is clearly better than the one you would have initially accepted.
