Has the clock battery in your Gamecube died yet?

Probably has for most people. I've fixed a few dozen this year and all but one needed a new battery. That last one should have gotten a new battery because it's still 20+ years old, but whatever.

Why do you need a clock...to tell youbit's game time?

mostly things like day/night cycles in animal crossing

Yeah but I can't be bothered to change it, I don't play Animal Crossing anyway so it doesn't really matter

Mine did a few years ago, so I replaced it. I should've replaced it with a socket instead of just another battery. Oh well.

my GameCube doesn't read/spin discs anymore and I don't know how to fix it
my wii is also kind of fucked up but that's because a "friend" of mine knocked it on the fucking floor

Replace it with an ODE.

Yeah, but I already switched it to a regular coin battery. Wasn't too difficult.

Picoboot or ODE.

Just use a Wii instead. Smash the GameCube with a hammer or something.
Anonymous No.718796592
Yes it did, but I can't be bothered fixing it

Gamecube:
Clean lid sensor switch with deoxit
Clean lens with alcohol on qtip (then dry)
If that fails...
Inspect for damage, spindle motors can be damaged and need to be replaced.
While the console is open activate the lid sensor and see if the laser fires up and motor spins
Lastly recap the disc drive control board underneath the disc drive itself.

Above all, just use a Wii, GC is useless.

I bought my first ever GC last year and it came with the battery already dead. I don't see a reason to repair it desu.
